The 8th of May is the special day in the life of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movemenet. İnternational Committee of the Red Cross, İnternational Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies celebrated the esatablishing day of Movemenet. As every year Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society holds events related to this special day. One of such events was held in State Musical Dramatic Theatre named after Huseyn Arablinski in Sumgayit city on 8th of May in 2012. Dr. Novruz Aslanov, president of AzRCS and deputy of parliament, Rovshan Sadiqov, first deputy of Sumgaytit Executive Power opened the event by making a speech related to this day.

The 8th of May is a special day in the life of International Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement and it is celebrated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, 188 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. As traditionally, the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzRC) plans to implement several events devoted to this day. The slogan of this year announced by the Movement components is “Youth on the move”. One of the events organized at the AzRC headquarters on 2d of May was meeting with participation of the AGAT representatives (Integration of Azerbaijan youth to Europe) and called “Intercultural discussions among different community representatives”.

Erkebek Argymbayev, president of Khazakhstan Red Crescent Society paid official visit to Baku to meet with Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society on the 22nd of Apri 2012. Gyula Kadar regional represantative of IFRC accompained him as well. Erkebek Argymbayev and Gyula Kadar met with Dr. Novruz Aslanov, president of Azerbaijan Red Crescent society at the headquarter of the Society on 23rd of April. After the meeting wide powerpoint presentation on activities of the Society was made to the guests.

The 7th of April is celebrated annually as World Health Day. On the same day of the year 1948 the World Health Organization has been established. The celebration of World Health Day is a global campaign underlining a global effect of health and calling on everyone to join their efforts. These efforts create a condition to participate in seeking of decisions for the welfare of each of us. At the same time the celebration of this day help to evaluate the role of elderly people and respect them, to create opportunities for elderly people to approve themselves in a society, to protect the health of elderly people as they are becoming aged.

The 10th of March is celebrated as “ Red Crescent Day” in Republic by the statement # 2749 dated 2008, april 7 by Mr. ilham Aliyev, president of Azerbaijan Republic, honarable member of Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Tree planting campaign was held on the 30th of March regarding to it. All staff of the society as well as head staff participated in this campaign. 400 trees were planted in the area situating around the H.Aliyev highway at the end by the Red Crescent represantatives.
