This year has been remarkable for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

As it was in the previous years the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society this year also has paid a particular attention to the development of a humanitarian sphere in the Republic of Azerbaijan, dissemination of the International Humanitarian Law among people, expanding even more a Policy of Voluntarism. As the only National Society representing the International Movement in the Republic of Azerbaijan our mission is to provide free of charge medical-social care, humanitarian assistance and other necessary services to vulnerable groups of population, refugees and internally displaced persons, people affected by conflicts, natural and man-made disasters, in short to all those in need of help by adhering to the Fundamental Principles of the Movement. The Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society has been carrying out successfully different medical-social care, humanitarian and other projects in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Promotional and educational activities on various topics conducted by the National Society played an important role in improving the health of people, in learning by population of rules of behavior in emergencies, first aid and other skills. The Programs on applying of participatory community development approach in the fields have been continued during this year as well.  more
